Frequently asked questions
What is ICSI?
ICSI stands for intracytoplasmic sperm injection. It is a form of IVF in which the embryologist selects a single sperm and places it directly inside an egg, rather than leaving fertilisation to happen in a dish. It is often chosen when sperm count or movement is low, or when earlier attempts at fertilisation did not work. The eggs are collected and the embryos are cared for in the laboratory in the same way as standard IVF. The medical team will explain in your consultation whether ICSI is the right route for you.
What is the difference between PGT and PGD?
Both are genetic tests carried out on embryos created through IVF before one is transferred. PGT, preimplantation genetic testing, is the current umbrella term. Within it, testing for the number of chromosomes is called PGT-A, and testing for a specific inherited condition that runs in a family is called PGT-M. PGD, preimplantation genetic diagnosis, is the older name for that second kind of test and you will still hear it used. The tests look at a few cells taken from the embryo; they inform the choice of which embryo to transfer and do not change the embryo itself. Your doctor will explain which test, if any, is relevant to you and what it can and cannot tell you.
How long do we need to stay for treatment?
A typical ICSI cycle involves a stay of [clinic to confirm] days, covering the final days of preparation, egg collection and the embryo transfer. Some of the earlier monitoring can be done in your home country under the clinic's guidance, which shortens the time away. Your coordinator will give you a day by day plan once your dates are set.
Do you help with travel arrangements?
Yes. A patient coordinator helps you plan the trip around your treatment dates: which days you need to be at the clinic, airport pickup, and how to reach the clinic from your accommodation. Flights and visas remain your own booking, but the coordinator will tell you exactly what dates to book and can provide a letter for your visa application if you need one. [clinic to confirm]
What does the basic package include?
The basic package covers a single ICSI cycle: the consultations during your stay, monitoring, egg collection, laboratory work and embryo transfer. Medication and any genetic testing are separate. The current price is shown on the packages page and confirmed in writing before you commit. Your coordinator will explain exactly what is and is not included for your case.
How do we book a consultation?
You can book here in the chat or through the enquiry form: tell us your country, whether you prefer a video consultation or a visit, and a few times that suit you. A coordinator confirms the appointment by WhatsApp or email, usually within one working day, and tells you what to have ready. You can also message the clinic directly on WhatsApp if you prefer.
